We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use Dexxie on any device. By using Dexxie, you agree to the practices described below.
We only collect information needed to operate Dexxie and keep your account secure.
You provide the following information: name, email address, recipes and photos you upload, cookbooks, lists, favorites, and notes you create, any support messages or feedback you send us. If you choose to share a recipe, cookbook, or invite someone to collaborate, we only collect the email address you manually enter or the information you choose to send through your device's share sheet. Dexxie does not access, read, or scan your device's contact list.
We collect the following automatically: device type (phone, tablet, desktop), browser type, basic usage analytics (pages visited, features used), log data (IP address, date/time, simple error logs).
We do not collect your camera roll, contacts, or personal files unless you intentionally choose a photo to upload.
When you use smart photo import, text extraction, and web link import, we temporarily send the selected content to our AI processing service to extract ingredients, instructions, and recipe details. This data is processed only to perform the service and is not used to train public AI models.
We use your information to create and manage your Dexxie account, process photo imports, OCR, and smart recipe extraction, sync your recipes across devices, improve app performance, troubleshoot and fix bugs, provide customer support, and send service-related emails (verification, receipts, product updates).
We never sell your personal information.
We only share your information with trusted service providers who help us run Dexxie, such as cloud hosting and database providers, secure file storage, analytics tools, payment processors, OCR/AI processing tools. These providers are required to keep your information private and secure. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Your data is protected with industry-standard security measures, including encrypted HTTPS connections, secure servers, role-based access controls, automatic backups, and authentication safeguards.
You can delete your account at any time, and all personal data will be permanently removed from our active systems.
You can access your data at any time, edit or delete recipes and information, delete your entire account, and contact us to request help managing your data.
We use minimal cookies for authentication, session management, and basic analytics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Dexxie is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you sign in using Google, Apple, or another provider, we only receive your name and your email address. We do not receive your password or access to any other data from these accounts.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Dexxie grows. If we make material changes, we'll notify you within the app or by email.
